Airflow® Tooth Polishing

Airflow® Tooth Polishing uses a mixture of compressed air, water and mildly abrasive powder particles. It works to break down discolouration caused by regularly consuming tooth-staining food and drink, smoking and employing poor brushing and flossing habits. It also works to meticulously remove plaque, which would otherwise cause bad breath and increase your risk of gum disease.

For maximum results, prior to treatment, we will carefully examine your teeth to check for tartar, (hardened areas of plaque) and remove this before commencing. Airflow® is the ideal combination treatment to accompany teeth whitening, ensuring your teeth are as stain-free as can be before beginning the whitening process.

We may be biased, but we dentists believe everyone can benefit from Airflow® Tooth Polishing, as no one goes through life without some degree of staining and plaque that needs to be removed. However, those who struggle with tooth sensitivity during a regular scale and polish are particularly good candidates for treatment, as Airflow® Polishing allows for a gentler clean.

It’s also an ideal preparatory cleaning method before receiving a sealant/ resin restoration, as it makes it easier for sealants to grip to your tooth surfaces.
